Prior to Wicked, Dan began his acting career on Broadway as the youngest actor to play Mary Sunshine in the Tony Award-winning revival of Chicago. He performed in 2000 shows across 125 cities as a part of the Broadway, US national tour, Canadian tour and, the Japanese, Alaskan and Thailand companies. In Chicago, he performed with stars Kevin Richardson, Jerry Springer, Sofia Vergara, Bianca Marroquin, Charlotte d'Amboise, Carol Woods, Roz Ryan, Paige Davis and John O'Hurley. In 2008 Dan performed as a soloist in Bernstein's Mass at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and the United Palace. He was the first male to record the male soprano solo in "I Don't Know" which was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award NAXOS. Studies were at the Professional Children’s School, the Juilliard School (BM), L’Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris (on a scholarship from Fontainebleu) and at the Yale School of Music-Yale University (MM). Ms. Lim performs regularly with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, has toured the US as Concertmaster for the New York City Opera National Company and has performed with the New Haven Symphony, Stamford Symphony, New York Pops and the New York City Ballet Orchestra. As a member of Steve Reich and Musicians and the Steve Reich Ensemble since 1992, touring and performances have been in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia. The diverse musical life of a violinist in New York City has allowed Ms. Lim to record close to one hundred TV and radio commercials, over sixty movie soundtracks, and to perform in over forty Broadway productions, currently in the Lincoln Center Theatre production of My Fair Lady. It has also allowed Ms. Lim to perform for and admire the artistry of musicians such as Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, Jimmie Page, Robert Plant, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Natalie Merchant amongst many others. From his burnished tone and clock-like precision as a sight reader to his incisive solo skills, “this guy is the definition of a trumpet player's trumpet player.” -Oscar Hernandez Born and raised in Venezuela, his musical career began to take shape at the early age of 7, with the internationally famous choir "Niños Cantores De Villa de Cura." With this choir, he traveled to many international choir congresses throughout the world, including performances in France, Spain, USA, Belgium, and Vienna among others. About this same time, he began to play flute to learn how to read music. Soon after he switched to the French Horn, but at 9 years old, he discovered his passion: the trumpet. In a very short time, he became the principal trumpet player for the orchestra accompanying the same choir. He attended the superior school of music, "Jose Angel Lamas" in Caracas, Venezuela to begin his formal classical education with Albreth Egon, a German native and principal trumpet of the Venezuela Philharmonic. At the age of 17, he had the opportunity to work with different classical Orchestras including the international Venezuela Symphony Simon Bolivar (from the Venezuela system) (aragua) founded by Jose Antonio Abreu. After a long career in Venezuela, having the opportunity to work and record with the most important artists of his country, he relocated to New York in 1996 and began studying with the great Victor Paz, lead trumpet for 18 years for the musical Cats among many other artists. Regularly performing in various Broadway and off-Broadway productions, Chris has subbed on over 40 shows, most recently as a regular on New York, New York and currnetly on Suffs. Chris has been the chairholder at Radio City for The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes for the past three years. Prior to that, she has also filled in as a substitute for many years. She is often seen performing at venues such as Paper Mill Playhouse, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Northeast Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Walnut Theatre and The Philly Pops in Philadelphia, and the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Before arriving in New York, Chris toured on various national tours including The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon. Featured as a clarinet artist on the Washington D.C. radio station WPFW “The Jazz Collectors,” Chris has served two U.S. Presidents in the “President’s Own” Marine Band as a clarinetist and saxophonist and performed abroad as principal clarinet in the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira in Brazil and the Nova Philharmonia Portuguesa in Portugal. Currently, she is a woodwind instructor at the United Nations International School and is busy scheduling concerts with her quartet, The Fort Lee Saxophone Quartet. She also plays with numerous ensembles ranging from woodwind quintet to big band and has accompanied artists such as Bernadette Peters, Florence Henderson, Aretha Franklin, and Frank Sinatra, Jr. Conducting master classes at various Universities within the United States, South America, and Taiwan, Chris has also recorded two CDs, “Enchanted Saint Saens” and “Clarinet Rhapsody,” hailed as “beautifully played and well-deserved of its title.” Her latest recording, “Chris’ Journey, A Whimsical Collage of Music,” is a piece composed for her showcasing her multi-woodwind talents on 11 woodwinds depicting various musical styles. As a busy artist commissioning and performing new works for the clarinet, she is a repeated invited performer for the International Clarinet Association’s annual Clarinetfest. She has performed with artists such as The Lennon Sisters, Ann Margret, Glen Campbell, Shari Lewis, Debby Boone, Elkie Brooks, and Petula Clark, and was the drummer for Andy Williams from 1992-2008. She plays drums in the all-women jazz group Sheroes with band leader Monika Herzig. In 2018, she held the drum chair at Summer: The Donna Summer Musical on Broadway. She held the drum chair in the Off-Broadway shows Chick Flick, Broadway Bounty Hunter, Love in Hate Nation, for colored girls at the Public Theater, Shaina Taub’s Suffs at the Public Theater, and John Leguizamo’s Kiss my Aztec. She can be heard on drums in the 2020 Grammy-winning album All the Ladies by Joanie Leeds. She has been a sub in the Broadway shows Hadestown, Shucked, and Back to the Future.
